I am havin some troubles with my 00 mustang gt convertible; i've replaced the iac as well as tps in the last week with brand new stuff.

when I start the car it idles down to 5 or 600 and surges up and down from 5 to 700 continuosly, almost like it's stumbling.. if I rev the car past 3000 rpm it hangs over 3k and sounds like it's going to blow. only way to get the idle down is to shut off the car or pull the plug on the iac.

i've reset the computer about 3 times.. once overnight with lights on and negative disconnected, the other times just negative for 10 or 15.

any ideas..? i checked the 10mm bolts for the inttake on the driver's side and the rear one was loose enough to tighten without much force.. is that ok?

if U go to over 3k rpms, you mean it sticks at whatever rpm u go up to till you shut off the car?

is your ac on?

nope the ac is off; yeah , it sticks at any rpm sounds like it's going to blow it's rodding so hard.. just had new flows put on.

would a vacuum leak cause this?

I would check for a vacuum leak. They area big cause of an erratic idle.You might also clean youe MAF. My `87 Vette was stumbling & it turned out to be the MAF. I replaced it & it was fine.
