so today i moved my car around the driveway and after i back up i couldnt get it out of reverse. I got it ot of gear and then it wouldnt go into any. I moved the shifter around and got 1st through 4th. 5th gear works but i can get into another gear after I take it out of 5th. Any ideas what might be wrong. I think its a shift fork for 5th and reverse since they are on the same one.

yea dude its your shifter forks....get ready for a rebuild, my pickup did the smae thign, 840 dollars later it was fixed, my 4wd drive was broken too so you should figure around 300-500 for a rebuild..good luck

well i have a warranty for the car but i still have to pay 295 but they said a full rebuild would be 750 plus but that was without the warranty. they are tearing it apart today to see whats wrong but the warranty company might just send a reman tranny o 1st and 2nd dont work either

well so far they said my reverse syncro was shot and that is what was keeping it inreverse but i dont know about 5th and 1st and 2nd they had to order a tool from ford to get it apart
