Default sweet deal ?? ?MAYBE... take a look, give opinions. all are welcome

heres the deal... my parents are dead set on me not getting a bike, they really dont want me to have one... so i have a proposition for my dad , and hes cool with it so i need some opinions on how to start and what are the stages and steps to follow etc... well first heres the deal... i told my dad if i dont get a bike, hell have to buy a a 4.6 block from a junkyard and let me rebuild it , and pay for everything ... lol so thats what im gonna do instead of the bike... then when im done with the engine im gonna sell my GT , get one for real cheap, and then redo everything, suspenions, tranny etc etc... my GT project is gonna be the craziest one around , guaranteed . so now my question is how should i start .... after getting the block from a junkyard are there any steps to follow in terms of what to do first until the finishing touches... any opinions are cool, im still debating wether i want to supercharge or turbo it ... but ill save that for last ... first i want to build up the engine ... any ideas /comments/sugestions would be great...

Well what are you driving now? If you already have a GT why would you sell it for another? Why not just keep it and drop that block in your already owned GT? Sounds like a lot of work... something I wouldn't want to do thats for sure. If he is going to buy you any block you want why not just get a mach I motor or a 03 cobra motor and just mod the hell out of it?

because buying a 4.6 block from a junkyard and rebulding it is cheaper than buying and brand new fully assembled 10 grand motor, and then redoing that... see where im comming from... plus if i rebuild a 4.6 just the way i want it... u wont find another one like it anywhere ... unlike the modded 04 cobra motor... which many people have ... its partially a money saving issue, and partially a originality of motor work issue

oh and to answer ur question about why not drop it in to my GT ... well partially because i want the feeling of a new GT , and keeping this one wont give me that... and also i might want the 96-98 body and i have the 99

For one what are you driving now? Any mods?

There is a lot you can do to a motor but there isn't so much that your going to be the only guy to have done it. I wasn't saying buy a brand new 03' cobra motor. Find one that is totalled and take the motor they are everywhere and you can probably get them cheep if you look around.

If you already have a GT why don't you just rip that to hell and back? It would be the same as buying a block... and it would save more money then just going and buying a block.

Also do you have a daily driver?

I am not trying to say it is a bad idea in anyway... by all means do it... If dad is paying then I would do it too but if you already have a 4.6 why buy the same thing? The 5.4 catches my eye a little better that would be something cool to do.

good question... i think ill be rebuilding a 4 valve.. .im gonna try to find a 96-01 cobra block ... the reason i dont want to do a 5.4 is because i dont want to get too much wight in front... i want it to be a road race car, not a drag car.... and yes it will be a daily driven car
