Well, I don't think anyone can really answer this for you without knowing what you already have, but, assuming that you're bone stock... I wouldn't. there's really nothing for $500 that you can do to the engine on a 4.6L GT that's going to do anything meaningful. CAI's, Throttle bodys and MAF's just don't really do anything unless you have a S/C or other power adder. I suppose you could buy a Nitrous kit... I've never researched the cost of N2O so I don't know if you could even do that for $500, but that'd be about it for performance mods.

If I had $500 to spend on my bone stock GT, I'd probably spend it on a better sounding/flowing cat back or mid-pipe, or, better yet, save up a couple hundred more and get gears.

With $500 I'd get a new name and learn to post in the right section... But seriously, $500 isn't much money at all. You left a lot open here. What year? What have you done to your car? What's your goal for your car? How does it run? You gotta give more info if you want a better response.

well for 500 dollars your best bang for buck would be nitrous.

In addition to this, as well as the title, I get the feeling he's not looking for mods.

Your saying you need to rebuild the engine because its toast, or rebuild it for more performance?

Either way, 500 bucks probably isn't going to cut it, even for parts alone.I doubt you can acutally rebuild the entire engine with stock parts for 500, andthereisn't anything you can buy for under 500 bucks performance wise thats going to realy help out an otherwise stock car. Even cams are more than 500 bucks...

Nothing about a 4.6 gets rebuilt for 500 bucks! I did all my work myself and still have over 4,000 in mine. By the way, I love the remark about the name.
