Default 96GT problems & high miles, rebuild or replace

Hello everyone I just have a question that I would like to ask you all. I have a 96Gt that I bought brand new in Oct 95. I have had a few problems over the years, but for the most part the car has been really good to me. I have a little over 198,000 mile on the car and I can't drive it now because it needs some repairs. My intake manifold has crack again for the third time[:@], it leaks a little oil and there is somethingelse going on with the engine may be one of the heads. My question is do you all think that I should spend the money to repair this car so that I can add some power adders (pulleys, supercharger. etc). With so many mile I guess it would be best to just about rebuild the whole engine (crank, pistons & arms, heads and get rid of that plastic intake manifold forever.. or just buy a newer mustang? Thanks

Newer one definitely. With the introduction of the new body style, they are practically giving away the 2002-2004 models.

If you want to make your car fast, I would just by a block. It is so much faster and easier then rebuilding it. If you are a "do it yourselfer" then I'd go ahead and rebuild it. If it were me, I would buy a block, PI heads, get them ported and polished, put a big *** cam in it, full exhaust, a tire, blah, blah, blah, on and on and on. Mustangs are fun and just when you think you are done with them.....they just arent fast enough for you.
