Default 4.6 SOHC Surging at quarter of throttle.. Why?

I just put plugs in my buddys 4.6 SOHC and it also had a code for dpfe sensor.. The missfire code is gone but still feels like its miss firing, it jerks when your riding the gas easy.. if you get on it hard it all go's away..

Sounds like a vacuum leakto me.Check all of your vacuum lines. Also if you live in a cold climate it could be one of your climate control lines. If the heater is on try turning it off and see if it goes away.Just something to try.

I had the EXACT problem that you do. In fact i would bet that you got a popping exhaust noise during idle when this is going on, when the motor is warmed up. And the exhaust probably smells funny. And you have a rough idle.

Check out my thread and fix:

OK Update:, I dida KOEO and a KOER test today, Came up with 2 new codes. ones a transmission control switch out of range and the other is a cylinder head temp sensor out of range... The car only dose the surging between 1100-1500 rpm mostly in overdrive while cruising 30-50 mph.. You guys think this tranny sensor could be goin bad the control sensor ? I have no clue on this one..
