Default T-45 T3650 question

Hi, I have been searching and found that the 99-01 1/2 have T-45 and 01 1/2+ have the T3650, how can I tell if the 01 1/2+ has the T3650?

And I always heard the T3650 was alot smoother while shifting, even with a short shifter, is this true as well?

On the door jam there is a code. Search with that, I know American Muscle has a key for figuring out the type of trans. You can make your way to the short throw section on their site, and it will give you a guide. IMO, both types are crap. Ford needs to put better transmissions in these cars!

The Mustang GT in 2001 had both the T5/T-45 and 3650 Transmissions. Check your driver's door for a sticker and look under "TR" for a "K". If you have a "K" then you have the 3650 Transmission.

off of mgw's site.

T5... But now you can buy carbon synchro's for the t45 and the 3650. Either is about the same, more than likely luck of the draw if your trans holds up.
