Need an intake for my 99 GT. Considering a stage two. What brand do you guys recommend? What are the advantanges/disadvantages to stage 1, 2, 3? Could you give me some hyperlinks or sites to check out?

Just get a K and N drop in filter and remove the silencer..Its the same thing really just $150 cheaper. But if you want good looks too then get the JLT

ORIGINAL: jtfrog

What is the silencer
Its the rubber part of the filter housing that extends into fender. It simply comes off.

Does this make it any more restrictive or just hide the sucking noise?

Are you talking about an "intake" or a "Cold Air intake"? replacing either one on a stock mustang won't get you much, if anything in the way of HP.

lols I'm pretty sure the op is talking about an intake and not a cold air one...

Your not gonna see much in terms of gains unless you have everything severely ported out, and even then your not gonna see much in N/A form.
