Default Oil catch can

I was wondering if anyone has some good pictures of this. I used the search and saw a couple but were usualy looking down on it and couldn't see a whole lot. I just put my c&l plenum on and the old one was covered in old and some of it was wet... So i'm thinking i need to do with mod and if anyone has any good ideas to make one instead of spending a lot of money on a kit i'd really appriciate it.

Would this work?

This is the one I have http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Oil-C...QQcmdZViewItem
A catch can is a good thing to have even if you are not SC. If you have full exhaust and intake then you have a much higher vacum which will draw oil into the intake. I had smoke after idle and at high rpm untill I put in the catch can.

Make sure you install it on the passenger side (PCV valve to intake) and not the driver side.

So you just set it up from the passenger side valve cover not the drivers side? Why not? I will probably buy that kit this week then. You may be hearing from me for advice on mounting it. I just hate the idea of all that oil going through the intake. My plenum was filthy and there was still wet oil in there. Also was small amounts in the tb and intake tube itself. Just looking to clean this up.

Air is sucked through the PCV system by the intake plenum vacum. It is sucked into the driverside so why would you need to put it there if the oil can't get to the intake. Air is drawn out of the passenger side valve cover and there is no baffeling in there to stop oil.

Thats enough proof for you, now show proof that you don't need it.
