Default Strange electrical issue + hesitation....

I'll start off with the electrical issue. For the past few days everytime I start my car the gauges all peg to the right and sit there for 2 seconds, then they go back to normal position. (kind of like what happens after you disconnect and reconnect your battery) but the strange thing is I've done absolutely nothing to my car in the last few weeks. It just came out of nowhere.

As for issue #2, I've had an odd hesitation since September. I noticed it after I got the car back from having the clutch/alum flywheel done (not immediately after I pulled out of the parking lot, but the following day when I started it up). Here's what happens......

When I start the car for the first few minutes it hesitates pretty bad. If I hit the gas it just feels like it's skipping. The engine sounds fine, but you can feel the difference. When I first bought the car in August it would run very smooth, and was just insanely fast. Now it feels slower, and it seems faster some days than others. The problem only seems to happen the worst after it's been started. After a few minutes is up the hesitation is gone, but then it feels like there's a loss of power. I'm clueless on what to do or look at at this point.

So far I've done the following:
1. Clean the MAF, TPS, EGR, TB, PLENUM, & upper part of the intake manifold.

2. Cleaned and re-oiled filter (then I recleaned the MAF a few weeks later to make sure I didn't over oil the filter causing the MAF to be gummed up).

3. New fuel filter

4. New plugs (NGK Platinums)

5. Fuel injector cleaner & I use nothing but 93 octane.

6. Oil change (Royal Purple 5w20) & filter (K&N oil filter)

7. Redline water wetter with a complete coolant change 50/50

and I think that's everything. I've no clue what to do at this point. Any suggestions?

use 91 octane, 93 is too high even for the performance tune on the diablo chip, try reflashing the ecu too, something sounds to me like a computer problem.

It's tuned for 93 octane.

Reflash the ECU or the chip?

Replace your battery, that should help the gauges. Mine did that right before that battery went out.

Ya what jojo said. When your gauges peg on start up, that means your battery is shot.

You mean you have a custom 93 tune? or do you have the "performance, 15* degree's of timing that comes on the tuner? because diablo tells you to use 92, which is rare. They told me to use 91 if my plugs were getting white (from getting too hot due to the extra time it takes 93 to ignite) and you reflash the EEPROM chip in the ecu everytime you load a tune onto the car using the tuner.

I just went through this on my 2002 GT. Battery had a bad cell. If you don't have a battery tester, take it to a shop or your favorite auto parts store and have them check it.

Also check the battery cable ends. I've had them corrode and split, causing the same problem.

Yup battery was bad and running on 2 cells, and the alternator has a bad diode. They said the alternator was running in the right specs, but the machine said bad diode. I went to both Auto Zone & Advance Auto Parts to see if they got the same results. They did.

So I guess I need to get a battery & alternator.

I did some research and the 'Odyssey' lightweight battery looks pretty good.

Anyone know a good place to get a reasonably (under $400) polished alternator?

Have you check with summitracing.com or jegs.com?

Just a guess, I really don't know off the top of my head.
