Default headers and h-pipe ...?

Im looking into putting a set of headers and a h-pipe on my 01 gt wondering what brand to go with...? So far im looking at the BBK ceramic long tubes/ h-pipe with high flow cats are these any good or is there something better out there...?

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the GT come stock with H-pipes? What is the purpose of changing? 2.5" should flow pretty good shouldn't it? I believe that is the stock diameter? Is the only benefit of going to aftermarket H-pipes to go to a free-flowing CAT?

yes im def goin high-flow cats i think its stupid ford puts 4 cats on the car stock. I was gonna go without cats but then they started the emission testing from 1996 and on so that blows that idea.

i have a 99gt get with BBK long tube headers and off road h pipe...sounds really loud and mean. only draw back is that the place that put on my headers lifted the engine to put on the headers. im not sure if they do that on all headers or if its just bbk

Yes the GT comes with a stock H pipe but it's not 2.5". I don't know what the stock size is but midpipes add around 10-15 hp. To everyone planning on going with high flow cats cause of emissions... GO OFF ROAD!! Catted mid pipes cost so much more and just cut back on the emissions. Don't worry about passing emissions either, you don't have to . You can find shops that will write you off. They just want cash.

Yes exactly whate he said. Its not woth spending well over $400 for a catted midpipe when you can get one without them for like 160-200. You can just go to a private emissions place and they will pass you for some cash. The money you give the private station will not equal near as much as it will cost for a catted midpipe.
