You guys are CRAZY. A LOW MILE 02 GT like that is worth more than 14,000 bucks. Retail on my 02 GT with 46,000 miles is over $16,000. Look it up on KBB or NADA

This specific 02 GT with 14k miles is retailing over $17,000. AND DEMAND for 99-04 GT's has gone up. Everyone who's been waiting to buy one is buying them now, thinking they are getting a deal sicne the 05's are out.

I bought my 02 with 28,000 miles a few months ago for 14K.
At 17 grand, you might see if they'll go into the low 16s, but it's not really a BAD price where it is.

^^^^^ It all depends on where you live, The reason it is going for 17800k id because i used my zip code, (a lot of very, very, very rich people live here therefor it will be selling for more) looking at 04stangGT's link is what I was figureing it would be worth (3k+ difference) up there in the north vs someplace where it is summer all year round.

You can generally bargain down a dealer 15-20% of the listed price, so around 15-15.5 would seem reasonable.

I just got an '02 GT, premium package etc.., perfect shape, for 16 from a private owner. Only had 13k miles on it, but there are 3.73 gears on, which were put on around 7k miles, and no odometer fix.. so it's likely more like 11k or 12k miles.

I just bought my 02 true blue GT premium in January with only 7,800 miles on it all stock down to the air filter from the dealership in Silversprings, MD. for $16,000 so I would at least try to get them down another thousand.

Another option you should consider is searching on sites like stangnet classifieds or other mustang sites for used cars. More times than not you can find low mileage GT's that are pretty modded for right around or less than what dealers are asking for. If I could do it all over again I would have shopped around some more, I bought the first one I went to look at, then after I joined some mustang forums I was kicking myself at some of the deals I was finding, but hey thats life.

I bought my 02 two months ago, a twin to the car your looking at.. the mileage was 27,000. The dealership was asking $16,999. I offered $12,000 an left them my number. They called me two days later, said lowered to $16, then next day, $15, then next day, $14. I offered them $12,500, then next day, they countered $13 and I snagged it.. '

Hang in there and I did use another dealership's car as an incentive... I didn't really want it thou', it was the wrong color for me...

Sounds a little high, but then buying from a dealer always seems a little high to me. I just bought my 2000 GT w/ 21,000 miles for $9000...but I bought it from an individual. You could try krafty02's method. A lot of folks do well that way, but you have to be willing to lose sometimes. I walked away from several deals in pusuit of the right deal. Be patient. Your worst enemy in car shopping is thinking this is the best deal I can get. It probably isn't.
