Engine Swap
Ok, so i took my mustang to ford, and apprently i have a lower end rod knock. sad for me. they say to do an engine replacement and thats what im gonna do. How hard is it to swap an OE engine for an OE engine? Shouldn't it be pretty much plug and drive? Also, i have an odd situation when i first start my car. the oil pressure seems to be zero. it has oil and runs fine. i don't really care if it blows right now cause i need to replace anyways. what would cause the guage not to work right or if the guage is fine, what would cause it not to get oil pressure besides the oil pump?

RE: Engine Swap
Yes swapping another 4.6 into your car is just a plug in and drive situation.
When you say no oil presure do mean for a second there is none (normal) or for a minute there is none (not Normal)

RE: Engine Swap
Normally I wouldn't either, but im to the point where i want this engine to blow. the knock has caused a loss in power, mpg, and its damned embarassing to drive with a noise like that under your hood. it makes it not possible to pick up chicks. hahaha.
