i can get a 4.6l v8 with auto trans out of a 2002 crown vic, motor and trans good, car is wrecked

if i get the entire wiring harness and computer etc, will it fit in my fox body WITHOUT a major hassle

Why wouldn't you just do a 5.0? Presumably the conversion would be easier, and parts are way cheaper...

RE: 4.6l v8 ???

are you guys getting that good of gas mileage on the 4.6 ?

i am only averaging 21.5 on my 4 banger and i drive mostly highway

as far as parts go i can get the whole car wrecked for less than a grand pull what i need and then sell the rest as either scrap or for parts

i know the motor is basically the same but i am concerned that the tranny will be too big to fit under the car

do any of you know if the trannys are the same or not ? i am also sure that the exhaust manifolds are different

RE: 4.6l v8 ???

I have 3.73 gears and I average 20 mpg with mostly highway driving. I get 22 mpg on the interstate. My wife's 4-cylinder Toyota Highlander gets 26, but its pushing a lot more air than my Mustang. Of course my mileage dropsto maybe 10 when I start playing.
