RE: Do gears need to be broken in?
Ive always heard 500 miles. Then ive heard others say they dont. But if it was me to be safe i would jjust take it easy for like 500 miles and listen for any whine or clunks or anything strange. Im sure someone else will know more. I just figured i would throw my oppinion out there.

most will say let it go through a few heat cycles before you rip on it. so like a 20min trip then give it time too cool down, do that a few times then rip on it.
on a side note im getting my frpp 3.73's installed tomorow, and thats what i plan to do. take it easy for the first handfull of drives and listen for whine/noise.

Mine still whine a little bit, but I still rip on it.... I'm a jackass I know, but I don't care, I actually hope something happens to my car. It will give me an excuse to by a complete rear-end.
