Default ATI Procharger Question

My brother installed an ATI p-1sc Procharger in his 2001 GT.
Everything is stock except for the 42# injectors and new Bosch platinum 4 spark plugs.
The car runs fine but when you hit around 5,500 rpm it feels like maybe it is blowing off the boost, backing off the boost.
Does this seem right? What rpm would it top out at 8 psi? Would it be reaching 8 that soon and therefore cutting off?
Could the new chip they gave him be set too low for redline?
I told him to call ATI on Monday and ask, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Today we both dropped our cars to 3rd at 65 mph and we stayed neck and neck into the 100's.
I figured he should have blown me away.
I was kind of shocked because everyone always says how slow my year is.
I have 3.08's and his is 3.27 gears.

well, i dont see why the blower would stop boosting if the rpms are still going up but i can tell you one thing, its a big mistake to put those bosch 4 plugs onto a supercharged application..those plugs are way too hot...i suggest getting colder spark, not only will it decrease the heat the car's producing, it'll save the life of the engine..i have an 04 and 5500 rpms, that redline if im not mistaken, in any turbo car this i know that the boost will back off slightly right before redline hits to not put so much stress on the motor, but im nottoo familiar with superchargers, i'm getting one a a week so once i pu that bad boy on, i can see what a supercharger feels and acts liek first hand..

sounds to me like he needs a dyno tune.

okay, thank guys, we'll have to see if there is a place to tune it around here. He is looking into iridiums that run a little cooler. Does that sound like a good idea?

I agree on the spark plug issue. NGK's would be a better opition. From what you described, it sounds like you might have a problem with the blow-off valve. Realize this: if you are under load and making boost, and you let off the throttle at all, even a little bit, all the boost will be lost. If he eases off the throttle even slightly, the blow off valve will do its job. If he is staying in it, and with the throttle mashed he is loosing his boost, I would say the blow-off valve is the issue.

Funny you should say that, because that is what he just bought this morning and the car is running much better now!
He thinks he even saw 9 lbs show up on the boost gauge if that is even possible on an 8 lb blower.
Hopefully he will be kicking my *** now like his car is supposed to... although my doesn't do too shabby.
We both weighed our cars today and mine is 3480 with half a tank of gas plus a 40-50 lb subwoofer.
His weighs 3360 with half a tank and no subwoofer at all.

Why does he have #42 injectors for an otherwise stock motor? At the most I'd say #24.. He definitely needs a tune. What 'options' did they tune into his chip? (Headers, intake, did they know about the #42 injectors?) Too many variables they didn't account for perhaps. If they just sent him a chip with generic settings his motor is probaby not set up with the proper boltons to take advantage of it. Do what some of the others have suggested here, get it dynoed and while you're at it, find out what kind of program was put into the chip.

'Edit: Oops didn't see your last post there. uumm....Good! Still don't get why the size injector tho...

for 8-10lbs run 30 to 36lb. call any s/c company and ask them. it also sounds like he is dealing with belt slip. as the above said he needs to go to a dyno. other wise he may be driving on borrowed time.
