Default 4.6 block how much Hp will it handle?

has anyone ever build a drag car out of a 96-97 gt? How much will the block take? Is it better than a 5.0?

Are you talking the "block" or the "stock short block"? Very different things.

The block can handle a LOT with the right setup and forged internals... like upwards of 1000+HP.

The stock short block on the other hand will start throwing rods through the side somewhere around 450-500 HP (at the crank! not RWHP)

What are you talking about?

If you're talking about just the block, it will handle at least 800 hp easily. If you're talking about the short block, I've never heard of anybody thats made 550 at the crank for very long, much less 600.
