Default So which brand of 4.10??

Should I be cheap and get the motive gears that are like $50 cheaper than the Ford gears, or what? I got a great installer that will do them for $200 and I am wanting to do this soon. So are the motive gears not as nice as the ford ones. All I heard of was gear whine and the installer I have said he has heard that from ford gears too>>? If thats all that could go wrong, is it all that bad??

I heard that Motive gears are harder to install, and require more shimming. When I buy my gears, i'm going to go with Fords, I hear they are a better fit when installing, and normally have alot less gear whine, if any. I wouldn't cheap out on this one, go with the Ford gears.

I would go with Ford Racing Performance Parts just cause when we install them we usually dont have to Shimm them at all but never done any other brand

for real.... a mech. in my home town will put in my gears for only $75 as long as i do some of the prep and clean up work. He does gears all the time and he suggests use only FRPP

Motive gears are every bit as good as FRPP... Don't listen to these people. I've closely examine both brands and ridden in cars with both. There seriously is no advatage, whatsoever, to getting FRPP over motive. Some other brands had problems with gear whine etc... but motive has none of those problems.
