Default 03 GT -vs- PTO @ 80mph

hate to start out this way, but ..... I was on the interstate on the way home from work one night behind a truck, whom I now call Bubba ... In the back of his truck was PTO (power take-off)for his bush hog or tractor, not sure which... it fell out!! I had 3 options, hit the ditch (gravel and all) maybe rolling and landing in oncoming traffic, hit the PTO, or lane fight with an 18-wheeler !! I picked the PTO and with a stroke of luck and good driving I managed to center it up... Needless to say it didMAJOR amounts of damage to the underside of my car ... The laundry list is major... RT splash shield, oil pan, transmission shiftcover, crossmember, support lock nuts, reinforce bar, suspension both sides, steering gear and assembly, axel housing w/8.8 inch ring, counter weight, pinion cone, retainer, spacer and seal, carrier bearing and shims, LT oxygen sensor, gear assembly, baffle, cover *** 8.8 gear, rt converter all ....now all of that took about 4 weeks. I have driven my car for a totalof 4500 miles since I got it back ... My car is now back in the shop (ford dealer that "fixed" it to begin with) so they can rebuild the rear end again - it was hotter than the exhaust - there is a major problem.... At what point do I stop letting them "fix" it under warranty and what can I, if anything, do to make them take responsibilty forscrewing it up??I am thankful for any and all advise!!

If you feel they are repeatedly screwing you over, take it to a different Ford dealer that you know tohavea reputable service dept. If it's an '03, & they decided to repair you care under warranty...I do not see why another dealership would not warranty the work as well. Just my $.02. Sorry to hear about all the damage.

Dang!! That sucks!

Unfortunately Ford garages "ain't too bright" if ya know what I mean. At least from my experience. I had problems when I bought mine, except it was my brakes, and I found out about the problem doing 80 down the interstate, when the caliperstarted bouncingaroundon the rotor onthe front wheel. Turns out the technician who "fixed" the car either forgot to bolt the caliper down, or didn't tighten it enough and it fell out. I don't know about the details of your warranty, but GSXR is right, try another Ford garage. A lot of times you can pick who fixes your car. Good luck!
