Default PI Swap question!?!

should i go with Patriot stage II heads and stock intake or should i go with stock heads and aftermarket intake? my funds are limited at $2000, so keep that in mind. and next question will the T/B and plenum from a 98 fit on the lower intake on the 99 - 04??? thank you!

Well first off im pretty sure question #2 is a no. And def. the patriot heads, the stock intake flows pretty well. You could shop around and prolly afford both, or port and polish one of the two. good luck, maybe sumone will add a little on to this for you.

well first off you shouldn't be giving advice of things that you don't know for certain because in this case you're very wrong. 96-04 plenums are all universal. so a 98 plenum will fit 99-04 no prob. heads are what you want done up. I'd suggest doing all basic bolt ons before head work and such, because to see good gains from those core parts, you need good bolt on parts for maximum benefit.

+1 but go with the heads and buy a pi intake ($200). then you can worry about bolt on's.
oh and npi intakes are a joke, they DON'T flow well.

umm it looks like he has most, if not he has a lot. i know that you can get PI heads and intakes off ford's website for like 600 all around and then maybe just get the intake ported, BUT it would be better to save up some more and just get both ported before you put them on there so you dont have to do it later and then they have to retake the entire engine out and put it back in. thats the same labor cost twice, which would be stupid

PI CONVERSION KITS
98 AND OLDER 4.6

Pre 99 heads had small ports and valves, and large round 52cc chambers. Camshafts in these heads were only .460’’ lift with short spring heights, you CANNOT install high lift cams in these early heads. Considering all these facts we feel modifying early SOHC heads to be a waste of time and money. . .

BOLT ON 65—110 RWHP ![/align]

Our kits contain new 2001 GT “Romeo†heads, with .510’x.530’’ cams & improved intake that will wake up your engine like you wont believe !
