Default 3.55 or 3.73 gears?

I want to keep gas mileage as good as possible but I would like to wake up the performance potential a bit.

3.73 seems to be the most popular mod? I do alot of highway driving at 80+ mph. Will the engine still be loafing at that speed?

I am thinking of the 3.55 ratio...any suggestions or ideas?

get 3.73s

you might even want to look into 3.90 made by motive, there a very good compromize for ppl that dont want as extream as 4.10, but want better then 3.73s

but dont get 3.53s, you will regret it down the road

4.10. you'll say to yourself "i should have gotten 3.55" if you get 3.73. later, once you get used to them and see how they don't really make that big of a difference on gas mileage on the highway, you'll say "i should have gotten 4.10". only get FRPP. there's 3 local performance shops (one of which ONLY works on mustangs), and all of them only carry FRPP.

motive is just as good as FRPP in every way.

i'd rather have a gear for a ford car that ford makes. that, and i'd rather take the advice of performance shops, especially one only dealing with mustangs, over some people online. FRPP is the way to go. as said before, get the 4.10. you're talking a couple hundred rpm if that difference between 3.90 & 4.10 anyway.

Get the 3.73 or 3.90 for all that highway driving 93 octane is expensive right now and only getting higher.

3.55 is not worth it. it'll feel like stock.

Agreed. The 3.55 is a good gear and the 99+ Gts should have come with it, but it doesn't feel that much different from stock.

I have 4.10s and keep telling everyone how much I really don't think they are that great.

i swear this should be a sticky, pretty soon ppl are going to be saying 410 so you can shoot the next person that asks with it ...

BTW go 3.73's, and i'm saying that only because it's closer to 4.10..... seems to be enough proof that the performance that is increased way outweighs the small gas consumption increase..
