brake problem..
I changed my brake today.
I forgot to open the brake fluid cap. I had my e-brake up and clam the piston back in to put new pads in. The brake fluid level jump all the way up. now the pistons wouldn't release and my brake padel is so light. any suggestions guys??? Thanks, |

You don't absolutely need to pull the cap off to change pads. I'm assuming thats what you meant.
Can you elaborate on what exactly you did, just change pads? or did you change out the caliper or anything more significant. If its just pads, you may have a leak from the high pressure of clamping the piston back in, check all the brake lines up to the resevoir for any leaks. E. |

I only did the front.
nothing was touch on the back. I took the pads off. Painted the calipers. clam the pistons on the driver side in. put in new pads. my brother told me to pump the brakes to get the air out. I pumped while my e-brake was up. one of the piston on the pass side flew out and alot of fluid came out from there. i pushed the piston back in. clam the pistons in and put in new pads. now my brake padel is so light. thnx all. |

You will need to bleed the brakes since it sounds like air got in there. You can easily accomplish this with a piece of plastic tubing, a friend who can pump the brakes for you and a water bottle. If you google search brake bleeding you'll find a million how-to's.

ORIGINAL: whitestang97 you didn't pump the brakes without the pads being in the caliper and everything being assembled did you??? op, you didn't even need to bleed the brakes if you didn't open a bleeder screw or discoa line |

well if you pressed the brake with the calipers unassembled more than likely your gonna need new ones
