Ok so the 2nd gear synchro has gone nuts in my car, and i doubt my car is under warranty anymore so most likely im stuck paying to get this fixed even thought there is that tsb about it. I've called around to 3 dealerships and about7 local tranny shops and have gotten scattered prices such as:

Dealership 1: $1650 and 3 days
Dealership 2: $1800-2000 Unknown days
Dealership 3: $1700-1800 Unkown Days

Local Shops 1: $ 298 to pull the tranny then figure out whats needed
Local Shops 2: $600-700 labor included, if nothing horrendous is bad..
Local Shops 3: ~$1250 labor and parts included
Local Shops 4: ~$500 if i pull myself
Local Shops 5: $1300-1500.. Guy was an *** and just said that it..
Local Shops 6: $600-1300... didn't quite help me...
Local Shops 7: Can't remember

SO... For anyone that has gone through this or seen the bills.. What should i look for.. and as for local shops.. I dunno if i should trust em.. except #3 is 2 blocks from my work and specializes in high end Foreign cars so i would hope they know what they are doin..

You could probably get a 3650 for cheaper than some of those rebuilds.

new or used/rebuilt? i'll take a look ardoun on the net and see what i can find

thts about wat its gonna cost you. i was looking to get mine rebuilt and it was around the same and i have a lot of friends and realtives in tht bisness. The cheapest price i go was from my uncle for $650to get a used rebuilt one and put it in myself but other than tht its a lot of money to have a shop do it. But in my case i wasnt sure wat was wrong butif you kno its your2nd gearsyncro it shouldnt be too much cause they just have to replace the syncro.
