if you dont want the tint too dark but still looks good go with 20%. i got 15% on mine and its pretty hard to see out at night. also from doing alot of tinting, mustangs are really bad about this on the back glass up at the top theres like a 4 inch strip of big dots where the tint will stick but it looks bubbly, i would have who evers doing your tint, leave that part out and put a piece of vinyl up there, it looks alot better. heres a pic of the my tint.

and heres a pic of the back, and at the top you can see where the tint doesnt stick very good, and theres really no way to get rid of the bubbly look, unless you use the piece of vinyl.

Gears are something that I would only let a professional do... It is also the last mod I would worry about... start off small with the shifter... then the intake... then catback... then mid pipe... then you can start thinking about gears if you feel like you need them... I could think of a dozen things I would want other then gears...

But I admit gears are quite awesome...

Alright cool. Thanks for the help so far guys. As far at tint goes, I have a place locally that has a really good reputation for tint. I don't have the greatest of eyes, and was thinking 35%.... What do you think? Not dark enough? I do alot of night driving and would like the look of tint without going nuts.

you might want to compliment that cat back with an x pipe and high flow cats.

SLP Mustang Loudmouth II Catback (99-04 GT) $450.28
Steeda Tri-Ax for TR-3650 (Late 2001-2004 GT, 2001 Cobra, Bullitt, Mach1) $178.94
Steeda 4.6L Underdrive Pulleys (Mid 2001-2004 GT) $189.95
Mustang GT Cold Air Intake Kit (96-04 GT) $84.99
Mach 1 Mustang Grille Delete - Authentic OEM Kit $104.99

$1,009.15 - $60.55 = $948.60

So Much for cheap.... List ok though for starters from a stock stang??

for the tint, if you want a dark look dont go any higher than 25%. 25% you can still see good out of at night, and its stilldecently dark during the day. but any local tint shop should have samples you can look at. and you could always go with like 25% on the windows, and 20% on the back window. but for tickets, and visibility at night, and dark during the day i think you would be happy with 20% all around.
