Default Procharger bov...

Hey guys, my mechanic is giving me the option to leave the procharger bov like it is virtually silent or make it do that shhhhh sound. What do you guys think? Is it benefitial to the car's performance?

I personally think it sounds cool... I dont get how he makes it silent but as long as its working its up to you... I would have him make it make the noise and if you get sick of it ask him to make it stop... Its up to you though.

He is probably asking you if you want him to run it as a BOV or a Bypass. A BOV vents into the atmosphere and a bypass vents back into the intake. When venting into the intake, the bypass will be virtually silent. Venting into the atmosphere will be a lot louder and give you thw wooosh sound of a turbo.

I wonder why people say venting back into the intake is quiet mine is vented back into the intake and I can here it just fine, even shifting at 2500 or so it's letting off enough that I can hear it. It's by no means silent.

Thats a pretty loud bypass if you can hear it over your off road pipe and flows. Especially at that low of rpms. My ProFlo Bypass didn't hardly make a woosh at 2500 when it was being run as a BOV pushing 11psi.

my stock procharger bov is just loud enough to where if you rev near someone they wonder wtf that noise is. well the average person anyway. super loud bov's are from honda's. and btw its ALOT louder outside the car.
