Default CYLINDER HEAD SWAP

i have to put a new pass side head in is it possible to leave my bbk header on and pull it up threw still attached to the cylinder

I doubt it. When I pulled my heads I was able to leave my stock manifolds on, but I doubt LT's will fit.

Passenger side I don't see why not... Driver would be more of a problem due to the steering column in the way.


Just hope you are strong- that head and header prob weigh a decent amount, and you will need to contort it and move it around to get it out probably.


I would suggest having someone to give you a hand in leading it out without breaking something

the passenger side maybe but itd be tight its worth a try tho your taking the heads off any way so why not do it all in one shot?

yeah im sure u call pull it out as one assembly may be a bitch but it can be done im going to be installing heads and gong to try to attach the headers to head and slide them in..may work..may not work..i will find out

and a LT weighs less than a stock manifold hence...aluminum header...cast iron stock manifold

I actually believe in oxfords how to build an engine thread, he attached the passenger side header to the head before installing it.

One would think that if you could INSTALL with it attached, you could get it out.
