Installing motor mounts

RE: Installing motor mounts
You have 3 options here. Drop the engine ,pull the engine or undo the giant bolts holding the mounts to the carand then start pulling the engine but dont lift it out of the car just raise it enough to work pon the mounts. Then you want to put a jack under the engine as a backup so if somthing goes wrong you dont have to explain to the doctor how you lost your hand. Then there are 3 bolts on each motor mount and you pull those off and put new ones on. Personally I would suggest pulling the engine all the way out its less stressful but it does take quite a bit longer.

so your last option what you're basicaly saying is to do one at a time but use the jack for extra support? I've done mounts before on a smaller engine and I just did them one at a time, worked out well.

thats the easiest way. if you have two jacks it would be even better. jaack the front of motor and rear no more than a half foot until your mount pegs are clear from the k-member and you can change them from there one at a time.as ehmark said. dont take the whole motor out. and jack stands would help also. let your motor sit on the jackstands instead of the jacks so that when your tightening or losening your motor doesnt roll with the jacks because it will be a b**** to get it lined up by pushing jacks.
