sounds like a worn clutch from what vague info you've given. at 22K, a bad clutch means your car was either badly abused, or driven by someone who couldn't operate a mnual transmission properly.

Or it just sucked from the factory and that's why the previous owner got rid of it.
Which trans was in the 01 Cobra?

i have an 01 CObra and its a TR-3650 tranny, you might not be familiar with it. Ive had a few people drive my car and they said its different from there mustangs, they have 5 speeds. The clutch catches at the very top if thats not it after a week then you might have clutch/tranny problems like mentioned

I was once told that the clutches could be adjusted. Maybe you should try this before going crazy spending money. Pull the clutch all the way out with your hand then push it to the floor and hold it for about 3 or 4 seconds.... Supposedly they are self adjusting... Just my 2 cents This is just what someone told me, mine seemed a little off and i tried it, and it seemed to help... Someone correct me if I am wrong... hope it works!

This is what my manual for my 01 GT says: "Every 3,000 miles or 3 months...pull up on the clutch pedal to the upmost position. This will separate the adjuster pawl from the adjuster quadrant and allow the clutch mechanisms to self adjust. It is a good idea to lubricate the clutch linkage at the time of adjustment....see chapter 8.
Is your car feeling sluggish?
I just had a new clutch put in due to the throw out bearing being bad at 54,000 what a difference it has made in performance...but I still have an irritating clutch pedal vibration and rattle that I'm trying to find the fix for but not too much luck. This problem has existed from the time I bought the car with about 30,000 on it. I did find a web site with a service memo about clutch pedal vibration, but they want $24.95 to read the memo...
LOL
