what kind of noise are you talking about? is it a whining noise? what brand gears do you have? you have 200 miles on them now i would say see what she will do! when i got my ford racing 4:10's i put about 50 miles on them but they were preran for the factory so there was realy no break in period i love them i have 3:55 before and i got 25MPG and i got 410 now and i get about 20MPG the torque gain was well worth the fuel milage drop plus i can still run between 150 and 160MPH
i thought 4.10's top out at like 118-120? in a stock GT that is

they shouldn't make any noises but I have heard certain brands whine no matter what. If there not ford racing then that might be your problem. Oh by the way go with the 4:10 gears drive on the highway and no regreats. I don't know where all these 4:10 gear naysayers come from I got a 2000 gt with gears, pulley, intake, exhaust, plenum,t.b I love my 4:10 gear dont fear the gear!

Your gears should not make any noise, no matter who makes them. In fact, Motive makes many of the Ford Racing gears. My Ford Racing 4.30's were made by Motive, and I have had no problems at all. I installed them myself and made sure it was done right. If your gears are making noise, there was a problem with the install. Take them back and have them check the backlash, it should be between .008" and .015." I put mine right at .010" and have never had any problems.
