Default OIL at the bottom of the intake Manifold.

So I took off my Intake tonight to paint it to get some nice pics for ROTM and I noticed Oil inside the intake manifold at the bottom of the valley. It's just enough to see it move at the bottom. The engine has about 45k on it. Is this something I should be worried about? How much oil blow by is acceptable?

Thanks
Mike

Do you mean inside the intake or in the valley?

I knew people would get confused. INSIDE the manifold. Not on the block.

Is your PCV valve soaked? Or is there oil in your PCV hoses? Some blowby is normal, but if it's puddling in your intake you're probablygoing to haveto re-seal.

Sounds like a PCV issue. How are you PCV hoses hooked up? Breathers? I know you are supercharged so you will have higher than normal crankcase pressures, which will lead to more oil coming back into the intake via the PCV system. But this can be accentuated if the system isn't hooked up correctly.

I've only put 65 miles on car since the s/c install so I hope it's not from that, lol. Too cold and dirty for the car to be out. I guess I'll clean it all out and check it in after an oil change.

Common for blow-by from S/C especially with miles on the short block

You should look into making a nice catch can set up from you pcv system back into you intake.

Ford's ingenious design was to vent crankcase gases back through the intake (and your blower in some cases) so that will happen. pick up a catch can for 40 bucks on ebay and it's fixed. This is the only time I would think about running seafoam through the car (in this case all the way from the filter) to clear all the gunk that might be on your impeller and ****.
