what all have you change since your runs last year, and what tire gear was you running then.

3.90 with 26 @ 6k rpm 119
3.90 with 27 @ 6k rpm 124
3.90 with 27 @ 6k rpm 124
find a gear/tire combination where you will trap with rpm's about 5600-6000

I have some hoosier quick time pro's 27x10.5 on my welds. Compares to a MT et street, but the side walls seem a little stiffer. only got one launch on the spray with them so far, but think i need to lower the pressure on them more

26 and the 3.90's would give you a little more gearing like you are wanting and and should be fine and be close to redline where you should be. but im going from your runs last year.

28's would give you plenty of gear to trap with but you would have to launch harder compared to last year to make up that little bit on the low end.

Are you sure on these numbers? With a 315/35/17 (same height as stock basically) I am at redline aorund 120 MPH with 3.73s. I thought a 26 was supposd to be like the stock tire height?

I wish I would have known you were looking for some wlds and slicks, because I'm debating on stepping up to a 10" wheel.
damm.

How do these look?

stock tire is just a little under 26. 25.68.
was using http://www.f-body.org/gears/ to calculate everything. The track times i found was when you was trapping 113.xx, so ignore my recommendation, I found old info.

those are the smae ones that I have. What is your rev limiter set at? If it's a little over 6k you may be fine with a 26" tire depending on how high you plan on trapping. I was able to easilly trap 116.xx with my 4.10's before 6k with the 28x9's

I dunno exactly what I will trap really, as I was getting LOTs of tirespin in 2nd gear with my best to date run. I was acutally spinning more in 2nd than I ever did in 1st. Car would pull thru 1st on the nittos and then blow them off for about 1/2 a second once I shifted into 2nd.

420~ WHP. Last trap was 114 MPH but I have to think with a decent launch it will trap higher. I would like to redline no lower than say 118 MPH just to have some room to grow and not loose too much up top.

I may just stick with the 3.73 and go with the 26 inch tall tire. Fuel cutoff is right around 6K.

double post ftw

According to the fbody site listed above, it shows a 26 inch tall tire with a 3.90 gear, and 1:1 4th trapping 119 MPH at 6000 RPM. This seems just about perfect. Any other thoughts, or should I just order them.

You said the 28 tall mickeys were acutally 27.x... any idea what the 26 inch tires are?

These?:

BTW, do I need to buy tubes as well??
