A/C Whine

A/C Whine
Alrighty guys it is getting hot in the central valley (over 90 degreesyesterday) so I started to fully use my a/c. However, after a prolonged amount of use I got a whine going on.
I turned on the vehicle along with the a/c and I automatically heard something. At first, I thought it was a distant siren coming from a municipal vehicle. However, it kept on despite my location. I then pulled over and found that it was coming from my engine bay. I then turned off the a/c and the whine was gone. However, when I turned it back on it was very subtle. But, when I stomp on the accelerator the whining sound increases in volume. It sounds like a supercharger whine.
Any suggestions guys? Is this normal? All help its greatly appreciated.

RE: A/C Whine
coulda be a pulley of some sort... take your belt off and free spin all your pulleys and see if anything sounds diffrent and or seized up...
i had a supercharger noise and it turned out to be my throw out bearing.. but if your only hearing it with a/c check your pulleys out and or compressor clutch
