Default rought idle and sputterign when accelerating

i have a 99 gt and a while back i had the crappy plastic upper intake peice changed by the dealership. as soon as they changed it i had a rough idle and sputtering when i was accelerating. (like it does when the traction control is on) anywasy it did it for a bit and went away. every now and then i would feel a small sputter but nothing serious. a few days ago it started doing it again but only when i first start it and after it warms up it goes away. my cel is on and im getting a code for the o2 sensor (cant remember which one) but this has been on from day one (about 1 year ago) i assume it becasue i have a flowmaster system with a x pipe and im throwing a code. any ideas? im not sure when the last time the plugs were changed or the cops and am not looking forward to changing them. so i hope thats not the reason. fuel filter has been changed 4 months ago and i run supreme gas with 94 oct. i think that pretty much coved it all.

maybe your idle vavle.. takes 5 mins to take apart and clean it or replace depending on how much you wanna spend also make sure your MAF is plugged in all the way and correctly

If your car is running rough and you're throwing a CEL on the o2 sensors it's gotta be one of the front two (the two closest to the manifolds) I had the same problem a while back and found that cleaning them with a torchfixed the problem. Those front o2 sensors when they go bad or get dirty will throw your air fuel ratio off and the car will run horrible. I'd do another code check and find out exactly which one it is and try cleaning it. While your at it you might just wanna clean both. If you do replace them make sure you get the OEM ford ones. Hope this helps.

i had the same problem yesterday. when i took the fuel rail off it had trash in the injectors even though i cleaned each one with carb cleaner before installing them. i ran a bottle of lucas fuel injector cleaner in the system and ran about 20 miles. car runs great now. i was starting to look for a tree to drive the car into i was so frustrated( [:@]). Glad i didn't! could also be a vaccume leak

well once again the rough idle and sputtering is gone again. this is driving me nuts. as for the o2 sensor the one that was messed was one of the ones that are further down the exhaust. im gonna repalce it, run some good injector cleaner thru her and maybe this weekend work up the courage to tackle the plugs. what is a good site to gt soem good aftermarket cops at?

The plugs aren't bad on these engines.. Just make sure your spark plug socket has the rubber grommet in it, and you have at least a 6" extension.. Otherwise you're good..
