Default PI swap, fast help needed!!!!!

Hey guy, I bought a pair of PI heads on Ebay, saying that they were taken from a 02 Mustang, but when it was all put back together we notice that the 4 upper bolts that go onthe timing cover to the heads are two small for the heads, they need to be wider. At first, we thought that maybe they we would have to take the bolts form a PI version, but we ordered them from Ford and they are the same size as the one's a had on stock.Only thing left that we can think off isthat they were from a F-150 or Lightning truck. Does anyone know if the upper bolts of the timing cover of a F-150 o Lightning are wider than the Stang? Has this happened to anyone else? I really need the help, my car is just sitting around doind nothing

Sounds like you have Windsor heads. Did your cam caps look different than the origanal ones? I used Windsor heads for my PI swap. You have to order 4 timing cover bolts from Ford. They're 10 mm instead of 8 mm Romeo bolts. Just tell Ford that you need bolts for a '00 GT instead. You'll be set. And congrats with the PI swap.

I just hope that your right because I'm pretty sure that the heads a have are romeo because the valve coverare the 13-14 bolt pattern. I'll go and check this out first thing tomorow. Thanks

Windsor valve covers are 13/14 bolt pattern, same heads I have on my car. Just get bigger bolts or some allthread, they'll be fine.

Good job on doing everything yourself man.

I was proud with my single passenger side head replacement, I can't imagine the feeling I'd hvae if I had done something like a head/cam/intake upgrade.

Though, to consider the PI swap a cam job too might be cheating

LOL... Thanks, but actually I did also change the cams. I went with Ported PI heads, 274ah Comp Cams, behive springs and a Typhoon Intake, a long with a lot of other stuff like LT, x-pipe,24lb injectos, 80mm mass air, 9mm wires, ect.. But yeah is feel awsome when you are a part of the creation. I'm a DIY guy, specially with my car, cause I know that whenI start that sucker up,
IT WILL BE ALL WORTH IT!!!!!!!
