Uhhhhh, what car are you driving?????? Compared to that maxima, it may be beastly LOL! Congrats on the new rid Noob. You'll soon find out that they 99-04 Gt's are far from Beastly. It will take just a tad bit of $$$$$$$$$ to make you a beast.

RE: My new 2003 GT
probably about .2ths off 1/4 mile or more. I got 3.90 gears. They are a little high for me. I like to go 80+ when i drive to work, but at 80, I am at 3,000rpm.
I will be taking my car to the track soon and should have some 1/4 mile times then.

RE: My new 2003 GT
Im having problems trying to get smooth 1-2 shifts at high RPM,,, any tips/anyone else have this prob? I might be letting the clutch out too fast or not giving it enough gas fast enough,, but its usually not too smooth. All the other gears I can make very smooth even at high rpms.

Congrats, and enjoy the car. Having a Mustang is like being in a brotherhood. For the most part most people you talk to or run into that own stangs, all are pretty cool and stick together.
If you like tight notchy shifts go with the Hurst shifter. I just had one installed on my 03 and love it!

RE: My new 2003 GT
congrads on the 03 gt ya they are great cars. and I agree that 3.73 gears would be the best upgrade for the car. i just purchased my 04 gt about a month ago and it already came with an xpipe and catback exhaust. I put an a cai from bbk but after researching things to improve I came to the conclusion that 3.73 gears will give more for the money. changing the gears is around 500 dollars. but save an extra 100 dollars and have the rear bearings and seals changed when the open up the rear end.
