Default 99 Mustang GT

Hello, my car will not start after sitting all winter, fuel pump is not kicking on when the key is turned, and when I try to start it... it just turns and turns but will not start. So far I have only checked the the fuel pump fuse and the inertia buttonits good. I was trying to locate a fuel pump relay if there is one? I would like any possible suggestions before deciding to replace the fuel pump, THANKS.

Before I replaced the fuel pump, I'd probably put a volt-meter on it to see if it's getting power.

your gas might also be rotted...so that could cause that also...put some new gas in and see what happens

thats what i was getting at, if the gas rotted inside the fuel pump/fuel lines, then u have a major project ahead of u. u will need to pull the entire fuel system and clean it. including the tank. =/ i hope for your sake it doesnt come to that. i had to do that in my subaru. NOT FUN.

edit: btw if that rotted gas sludge **** gets past your fuel filter(which it can)and gets in your motor, it will slowly eat away at the bearings and rings, i spun a bearing, blew a ring, and an injector seal in my old subaru. it will make u cry and punch yourself. been there done that. sorry.

It has sat for about 6 months, andhas not been started during that time..... I know I know, how would I go about testing fuel pump to see if its getting voltage? UPDATE,Well I got it started with starting fluid and it stays running as long as I give itkeep rpms highor let it idle at low rpm, but as soon as I give it some gas and let off or start tomove it stalls out and will not start again without starting fluid? (If that makes any sense)

i assmuming u didnt put stablilizer in which means all the gas tht was left inthe lines and all the gas in ur tank has gone bad. ur injectors are probably clogged also. U should put some injector cleaner in ur tank and some fuel stabilizer and keep it running till it gets cleaned out. An once u can go on the road again id run it wide open a couple times just to clear everything out (and to give an excuse whn u get pulled ovr for speeding lol.)

ok first off... im sure your gas in your tank is FINE dont worry about that

Known problems on 99
1) Security system goes bad and does not allow engine to fire... might nned to be bypassed
2)pcm can go bad. have someone who knows what they are doing check to see if your pcm is putting out a signal

*DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS WITH A VOLTMETER IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCED*

im guessing its one of those 2

its not a gas problem

Well I unhooked the fuel filter to see if the pump was pushing fuel to it, and its not. So my problem is either the pump itself or something electricalthat controls the pump any ideas on electrical it could be or I could check? Thanks for the help
