Default Degreeing Cams How To?

I just got my cams and am wanting to get them put in, the only question I really have is about degreeing the cams. I have never done anything with them before but I believe it means basically having both sides of the motor set exactly the same. How do I check this? I know that not all cams are perfect and have heard that sometimes there is even variations in the degree of a set of camshafts. I know I can install them straight up but this is not best ( for ptv or hp). Really I need a write up on this or some serious help. Any would be apprecaited. I did search this but didnt come up with much.

Before attempting to degree a camshaft, you should fully educate yourself and completely understand the 4 cycles of a 4 cycle engine. (Intake, compression, firing, exhaust.)

Until you do this, the process of degreeing a camshaft will seem fuzzy and confusing.

Good luck on finding info on this one, I tried and nobody seems to have it. There is a senior forum member I pm'd who said he's going to research it and post a sticky on it when he gets time. So I guess when I'm ready to do this I'm just going to go to my engine machinist who specilizes in ford motors. Good Luck.

welll im not exactly sure about this cause ive only done it about 2 times but, you can degree the cams by checking the static comp. ratio.

Me neither, but I do know 2 things though, summit sales the degree wheels for it, comp highly recommends degreeing for their stage II cams, and those are what I want. But it's the in between info that keeps me down.

The specs on it are .550 lift, 234@.050, 114 lsa. I understand the four strokes, I just dont know the process to do this by.
