how to fix those squeeky brakes??
I had originally thought it was my shocks starting to take a dump but now i'm pretty sure it is my brakes that are making this squeeling sound. now, it is only in the mornings when it is fairly cold and it will only do it at like 15mph and below. now this is not the sound it makes but pretty much the pattern, whoaa,,,,whoaa,,,,whoaa... <---kind of sounds stupid, but it is like it is only a certain part of the brake, so everytime it hits that part it makes the squeek. could this be a warped rotor or something like that? oh yeah it doesn't do it when the car is warm or if it does it is only very faint.

i have had the wheels off several times and each time i look everything looks to be normal. i had the pads off a little while ago and they were fine. Don't know if i said this but this is while accelerating from 1mph-approx.12mph. not while the brakes are on, because there is no squeek when i am on the brakes

Check if the rotors are warped, maybe even try some brake cleaner, thats all I can think of for now except you said it usually happens when its cold? maybe its just sticking a little. Does it go away after you drive around for a while?

I have the exact same problem on my Tbird. My guess would be that the rotors are warped ever so slightly touching the pads causing the squeak. I haven't done anything about it though because it doesn't bother me enough to replace them. It's been like that for about 2 years.

same here, it doesn't really bother me it was just one of those things that i thought might be an easy fix. and yes it goes away, the only time i hear it is when i first ROLL out of my driveway but then when I get to my first stop sign approx. 1 mile away you won't hear it. Then after my car sits for four hours at school it will rarely do the squeek as i pull out of my parking spot. oh well, thanks for ur suggestions though.

My guess, as educated as it is, is that you have a little bit of oxidation (rust, moisture) on the area that your pad isn't near, and as you're coming out of your yard, your pad cleans it off...
Just a guess, but it's fairly common.. If you don't get pulsation in the pedal when braking, then 9 times out of 10, your rotors are not warped...

okay, thanks for that... it makes sense thought since we are pretty moist up here in washington and so every night it sits i guess rust forms and then just get wiped off the next morning. we'll see if it does it in the heat of summer.
