Default 97 gt vs 98 gt specs

Hi, im new to the forums, i just bought a 1997 mustang gt, anyways, I saw that the mustang from 98 has 10 more horses then mine... I know from looking around that the 98 has a different fuel system, larger exhaust and a different ecu. So what i as wondering is, could i switch he ecu, and the fuel pump from a 98 in my car for more horses? is the fuel pump the only difference in the car or is there something else? thanks for the help =)

I don't know much about the difference between the two cars but it does sound like alots of work for 10hp. If i were you, i would do exhaust, cold air intake, throttle body, elbow, and 100 shot nitrous. Then do a PI swap. If you don't know what a PI swap is, just use the search button.

i agree with everything said above BUT i would do the PI swap before nitrous because if you build up the engine you could use a bigger shot and not have to worry about it. long story short is 96 - 98 mustangs non-pi motors (heads, cams, and intake). 99 - 04 have PI engine out of the factory. you can swap the engine parts right off a 99 - 04 or you can get ones that are already ported and polished like patroit performance heads or something

here are two threads on PI Swaps... start reading haha
