Dyno Numbers

Dyno Numbers
We had a Dyno day at the local shop and I did three pulls with my Automatic 1996 Ford Mustang GT. Two wierd things happened.
1. Even though I disengaged the overdrive it still automatically activated as soon as the RPMs got close to 5800. The technician and I could not figure how to keep the O/D from automatically engaging. It may have caused my top end HP number to drop off since the RPMs would drop due to the overdrive. Anyway of temporarily disconnecting the O/D?
2. My numbers were pretty low, I thought. I peaked at 185 HP. I told the technician that at minimum I thought I should be 215 hp, per factor spec, plus I had a couple of bolt on mods in it. He told me that the factory spec doesn't take into the account the tranny and the loads on the wheels when the measurements are done. Is the 215 then at the flywheel with no load? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I have only been into this for about 4 months and I am learning as I go.
I am worried I may of compression problem. I was considering doing a PI Swap, but with these low numbers I am worried my 135K engine is in trouble.
Thanks in advance for the responses.

RE: Dyno Numbers
in my body style, you can un plug the O/D wire. its under the center console, by the drink holders. i had to unplug it when i put in my new shift ****. I dont know if its a good idea to run it with it unplugged tho. but i just know its there..and as for your numbers, its prob because its an auto. mine is an auto and i peaked at 230 after i got it tuned, and i have bolt ons. i thought it be around 240 or 245. so yeah, its prob cause of the auto.

Your numbers sound fine to me. The O/D thing didn't cut your peak power down at all. 2V 4.6s don't have **** for top end(especially NPI lol). I shift my car at 5500 lol. In a bolt on PI power peaks at 5000 and starts to drop off, with your non PI heads god only knows....
But yea 185 with minimal bolt ons and an automatic, sounds like your motor is running pretty good.

stock NPI comes with 225... just an FYI but your numbers sound good... if you are going to do the swap do it right the first time and go ported and polished

Only '98's come with 225.
And 185 is good numbers, espcially for a minimum amount of bolt on's with an automatic. I made 188 rwhp with more bolt on's than you and a 5 speed. Time for a PI swap!
