Unless this kids parents have more money than brains this is not a realistic senereo. Everyone that I've ever known, including myself, has ****ed up their fast *** car because their too inexperienced to drive such a car.
The kids a tool.

yea...I want to eventually be a really good driver.
He said that he is going to get it to 500hp in six months...which im sure is very possible but...he doesnt even have his permit yet. Im sure he can afford it though. And i highly doubt he is going to be a good driver.
but lets assume he was a awesome driver and ditto for me....
i would need to be full bolt on right?

Mitsu 4g63T, in stock form... The bottom end is rated to max of 500hp.. That's MAX.. That's like putting 450hp to the stock bottom end of our engines (4.6), and then expecting it to last...
Now on top of that, the turbo combo, head work, electronics, lightweight, driveline improvements, and everything else would have to be altered in some way to accomodate..
He'd be better off buying a 99 Porche 911 TT... It'll cost about the same amount as all of the upgrades, he'll still have AWD, and it's gonna handle better..
Just my $.02

00 Mustang GT - Too Slow to Race, so far.....

uh they look fairly quick to me...
Anything factory with a BIG I/C usually means trouble.
and its like a "fast" version of the lancer...like the m3. Tuner versions of cars are usually fast.

Those things (EVO’s) look like total sleepers! I’d never guess that they pump out that much power/speed.

Due to the fact he has a TURBOCHARGER running over 12PSI, I would say go full bolt ons. But just even the score and get a blower.

Evos run 20 PSI...not 12.

K here kids. I got a stock gt with an exhaust, a short shifter, intake, and 75mm TB. Haven't had it tuned or anything. ANd I've taken 2 different evo's from the line. and I took one from 60-100 as well. They're powerband isn't great. Took him too long to spool and he didn't hook till mid 2 gear. and by then i had 4-6 cars on him. All of them sucked at driving and didnt have any idea on how to launch.
if you can launch well, downshift that bish and flow it (providing your already at a roll). you should be okay. If you go 1/4 mile and he's a good driver.....ur done.
but most ppl dont know how to drive the car for quite some time. same kid i beat from a roll came back like 2 wks ago and owned the **** outta me...oh well. gettin a 2.2 l KB soon so ill be puttin down 700 hp at 20 psi. then its time for a rematch
