Default Predator + Gears

Here's a quick (probably dumb) question - I know I can use the predator to adjust my speedo after I put my 4.10s on but can I do it without installing a tune??? Can I change those parameters without tuning, because I'd rather wait for the tune for when I do exhaust etc... And I don't want to spend 90 bucks on a speedcal when I'm better off getting the pred for 339 and it can do so much more.

Thanks in advance

You will have to install the stock tune that came on the predator. The only way to modify your gears with the predator is to go in and change the ratio and then install the tune with the modified tune. Go ahead and install the tune, it will make a difference with your car and you will like it, just be sure to run the good gas (91 or 93, I use the 93). When you do your exhaust and other mods you can always go into and tweek the tune with your predator, that is what I have done as I have gotten more mods. There is no point in spending more money on a speed-cal when you can do it with what you have (and I am sure that is one reason that you purchased it) so just do it and install the tune, and enjoy!!!!

^ What he said. ^

You have to install the predator tune then go in again and modify the tune and install it again.......it's alot of turn the ignition on, turn the ignition off, but there's nothing to it.

I don't get why you wanna wait until you do exhaust to put the tune in. You can't modify the predator's tune for the mods you have. What will happen though is when you add your exhaust mods the tune will only continue to work even better.

You don't have to install the tune just to calibrate your speedometer. You can go to a menu called HP TUNE which you can adjust parameters without installing any tune.

I have seen that on mine and have always skiped it and went right to the predator tune, and then modified everything from there. What would the point be to have spent the $$ on it and not install the tune? If you wanted to just adjust your speedo you should have just bought a speedo recal and not the predator. Just my $.02
