Default picked up a dohc 4.6 for free today

It was sittin on the ground in my neighbors garage. I asked him what he wanted for it and he told me to get it the hell out of there. He told me it only had 78k on it, no wiring harness though. Does anyone know where i can get a wiring harness? Do they make carbed intakes for DOHC's?

that would just be a hastle.. you could get a harness for cheper than a carb,manifold... i think a carb would be more of a problem than an easy way out on a motor like that.

Check out a salvage yard or Cjponyspart.com , Could try your luck at a dealer for a harness. carb'd dohc sounds like it would be a fun project, requires allot of beer im guessing

the prices at dealer are too high. Try 24 hour auto(ebay) or craigslist for a salvage. The dealer charges 1000+ for some of the harnesses.

karkraft.com also makes carb intakes for dohc motors.

Depending on the car it came out of you may need to change a few things. Mrk8 has a different oil pan, intake, coolant passage on the side of the head and a few other minor things. Don't take it to a shop to have it done they will try and rape you because "it's custom fab work" do it yourself if you can. It's as easy as pie. Carb would be cool on a high compression 4v motor but other than that I FEEL it's a waist. You'll loose performance of the engine by going carbed. I would hop ehte only reason you asked as because you thoguht it would be easier than buying a new wiring harness. A harness would be cheaper AND you don't even need a 4v harness. the 2v harness works just as well. You'll just need to extend a few wires.

Gook luck.
