Default more power!

I recently purchased a 2000 mustang gt 5 spd. I have just installed my SLP catted X-pipe and loudmouth catback, bbk fenderwell intake and trickflow plenum. Also installed a new king cobra clutch, ford racing billet flywheel and steeda triax shifter. Its certainly quick, but not quick enough. what else are my options for bolt-ons that will get me considerable gains? Ive considered a throttle body but was told that unless i have a modified motor or forced induction it wasnt necessary. How about headers>? are they really worth the hassle to install? to my knowledge half the front end must come off to put headers in. And i ve even heard from people that they lost hp with them. Any thoughts?

long tube headers will give you around 20-25rwhp.

you still have a lot of bolt ons left to do!!

if you want to get the most out of your cai, and plenum, then you need a throttle body!! it doesnt make much sense to make the plenum bigger, and the cai bigger, but not the thottle body. kind of pointless.

also there are underdrive pulleys, headers, sct tuner/tune, ect.

also its good to clean up that sloppy *** shifter!!

I did replace the shifter with a triax, isnt that a good shifter? i like it. As far as the throttle body, the plenum isnt any bigger in diameter at the entrance, infact, its the same. I dont understand?

get longtubes, a throttle body, underdive pulleys, gears and a tuner and ull feel a difference. If you dont get a h/c/i setup, a s/c and a dyno tune and if you dont feel a diffence after all that thn your sol lol.

i didnt see the steeda tri-ax part.

most aftermarket plenum are infact bigger than the stock plenum usually by about 5mm. to get more air into the engine. more air = more power. if your aftermarket plenum isnt any bigger than your stock, then what was the point in replacing it (if its not going to help let more air in?), just do some research on the forums. sounds like you still have A LOT to learn!! (as well as i!! i dont know it ALL...trust me).

read thru the stickies on this site.....start here.

basic mods for your GT

here is another one, about TB/plenums

throttle body and plenum comparisons

Don't forget weight reduction. In a lot of cases, weight reduction is free, and will help.. One of the non-free pieces would be wheels and racing seats.. Every little bit counts, and even though you may only be able to shed 150-200lbs (sort of stretching it), it can take away tenths in the 1/4, or even just put less wear and tear on your drivetrain/power train..
