Default Replacing a Intake manifold

Well, i just got my first car, not my dream car, but close enough. Its a 1998 Mustang GT V8. I have only had it for 2 months and i noticed my car was steaming one day while driving home from college. I pulled out and found alot of anti-freeze inside the valley of the engine, so i drove it home carefully and taking backstreets. When i got it home, my dad and i found a crack in the cross-over piece, which is the stock plastic piece. I have been searching all over and after talking with some friends that own mustangs ( FordSpeedRacing, Chad And Corey Motorsports, and many others ), they all said the dorman isnt worth the time or the money, due to the fact you loose horsepower because of the ports, which are too small for a V8. When i search around localy, everyone has dorman. But the real mustang stores carry Edelbrock, and other racing brands, which i would have to get my engine modified to get the horsepower out of it.

So my question is; what should i go with?

Well, Did u read what i typed =\?

I do not want a dorman, they carry dormans, nobody carries ford that has the ali. tube in the front, and the ford intake manifolds i found, were all reinforced plastic.

Who cares if its dorman???
Are you wanting to spend 900$ on a high performance intake manifold when you wont even see any power gains from it at all?? Possibly lose hp.... Its about the only thing youre going to be able to find. I just wanted my car back up and running... They are like 140$
Go to americanmuscle and buy you a stock PI intake manifold and get the kit to change make it fit. Go ahead and get started on your PI swap and call it a day.

You arent going to lose any HP with the stock intake.. whoever told you that, I would not listen to their advice.

Well, money isnt a problem for me, but im not putting 900$ in a 90k mile motor.. especialy a 4.6, BUT. I was asking what should i go with? Not what you would go with, thanks for the reply tho, and i can get a edelbrock for 250$ and get charged 50$ to get it put in, but i dont think i should go with a performance intake when my engine is stock. So my new, revised question is; What is a good intake to put on a stock motor, thats not a dorman, hollander or platinum?
