I got a 03 GT Coupe auto and my bro has a 03 GT Conv. 5 spd. and my friend has a 03 GT Conv. auto, does anyone know about what these cars run in the 1/4. My guess is:

My 03 coupe auto:14.5

Bro 03 Conv. 5spd:14.2

Friend 03 Conv. auto:14.7

Does that sound about right?

yup ran a 14.4 stock with hrdtp 5spd. There has been talk of 03 gt's hitting 13.8 stock but I have never seen a 03 Gt run faster than 14.2.

What year is yours? BTW mine is an auto coupe. And what was the 03 gt that ran a 14.2? Coupe, conv, stick, auto?

Does anyone know of how much of an handicap an auto is? I know most cars lose a lot compared to the stick but I heard the Mustang is about even.

Fat Nick, I saw in a roadtest article in some mag that a stick in a GT is close to a second faster, but I have never witnessed that. You can definitely get a shift kit for your auto that will drop several .10's off your times, but it may void warranty ifyou ever had problems. I am calling it a night. I noticed you are a newbie too, so I look forward to chatting with you soon. C-ya.

Your 03 Coupe Auto should be able to run with a Convertible 5 speed...

Post the numbers off your timeslip.

AODEs sap alot of power, don't shift high enough, and shift pretty soft. You lose 22%-24% compared to a 5spd's 17-18%

because you are under warranty i suggest you change your gears first.. go with 3.73's. untill you finish your mods, don't get a cpu and you will have to burn it again with mods. if you go witha shift kit, transgo makes a good one.. cheap too like 199.99 and makes a huge difference.. shift kit and gears, your aode will shock ya

your car is probably a 14.9 to 15.2 car stocik.. with gears and a shift kit, with a good lauch and some bolt ons, you could be all over the 13.9-14.2

gears 200

shiftkit 200

intake, tb, maf 560

exhaust 400

1400 bucks and you will be rolling

I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE CLAIM THAT THEIR MUSTANG GT'S RAN A 13.8 STOCK ALSO AND ALL THE YEARS THAT I HAVE BEEN TO THE TRACK I HAVE NEVER SEEN A STOCK GT RUN 13'S. I THINK THEY ARE GENERALLY IN THE 14.2-14.4 RANGE.
