How to get Oil Dipstick out of block?
In the middle of a PI swap and cannot get the drivers side head off. I think its because of the oil dipstick. How do i get it out. I think i read before that someone broke it and were able to get the head off. If thats the way to do it where do i break it. If not what to do. I tried yanking on it hard as hell couldn't get it. The new one in the ford racing kit looks to just be an o-ring seal with no bolts. Is that how the stock one is?

Theres one small bolt bout half way up which keeps it in place, other than that its just an o-ring. Im not sure if you can access the bolt from the top though

Yeah its one bolt that holds the tube to the head, and just an o ring in the block like ponysnake99 said. Mine was a bitch to get out though. The o ring really held it in there.

There is a bolt on the valve cover that holds it down. I had to bend and break mine to pull it off without removing exhaust manifold. It is really a two or three person job and its also the most stressful part of the pi swap when you put the new dipstick in.

i was able to pull my dipstick out no problem after removin that bolt, i actually had to just replace the tube cuz there was a hole in it down near the bottom, no idea how the hell it got there but it was leakin oil haha, but goodluck with the tube.
