3650 rebuild information, (insights, experiences, outcomes)

Hello everyone. I am looking to rebuild my 3650 this month. When I get my check from the government (300$), and a bit left over from paychecks this month, I intend to pay a shop to pull the tranny, keep my car there, I take the tranny home, tear it down, and rebuild it myself. If they send me 300$, I'll just get the cheaper kit (can't remember who sells it, so some links might be helpful), but if I get 600$, I'll be buying the kit from DnD. At any rate...

If you've rebuilt your tranny with either of the kits (the former I can't find a link to, but I remember it existing), or by yourself even, I could use your insights on where to buy the parts. Also, did the parts actually resolve your problem? I would love to go 6 speed, but lord knows I can't afford it. So yeah, lemme know what you ended up doing.

I'd also consider an auto at this point, with a paddle shifter or something. Anything to get me a working tranny, so please, let me know what you've done to resolve your ****ty 3650. I'm can do, but i have no experience and I'm set on building it myself to save cash (I had a full time job building components for autos, and those are pretty complicated, I'm sure I can do a manual).

Post anything you know about this from personal experience.

This is not what I'm looking for. I'm asking for people who have done the rebuild to tell me if it actually worked, or what things they ran into that they didn't expect.

that's fine, but that's what i'm posting. if you making any power or plan on making power, you're going to be posting the same topic again later on down the road. not many people here bother rebuilding the 3650 when it dies. most just get the TSB fix if it needs it and then upgrade later when it dies.

There's supposed to be some kind of fix, and my transmission has progressed to the point where third gear is affected. I believe it won't be too much longer now. 43030 miles on the tranny, and only about 7000 in my possession, it was mostly good when I bought it, and I only noticed the problems SELDOMLY. BUt now it's every shift into second, every third of fourth into third. Works fine when speed shifting, though!

And if I'm going to spend 2000$ on a transmission, I'd spend 2400 to 3000 and just get the T56.

I appreciate our input Nanaki, but I really need to hear from some people that had thier transmissions rebuilt.
