Default Engine Choice

I have searched quite a bit on here searching for a solid answer on what the stock 4.6 will hold HP wise. Unfortunately, I have found mixed answers. I am looking to replace my complete motor ASAP and was looking at a stock rebuildand putting some bolt ons and possibly some NOS (75-100 shot) or a Kenne Belle SC.

I guess my question is, can I safely run a SC or NOS on my stock block. I know that most say 450 with a tune is ok. Is there any members who are running a S/C on their stock bottom end? If so, what amount of PSI and RWHP are you actually running?

Are there any other precautions I should take to ensure reliability. My next motor will be a complete rebuild with all new components. Just having a hard time dropping double the money for forged when I dont feel I will break 450 hp. Also, this is my daily driver and am not a teenager that beats on my car too much. I now have the weak 96 4.6 and am looking to swap to a 2001- Pi motor, heads, intake, etc....

Some one please give me some insight on what I need to make it run right and stay that way. Thanks

NOS = nitrous company.

N20 = nitrous.

99% of everyone on this forum are running a S/C on their stock bottom end.

Also, I am running a 100 wet shot on stock internals... So far so good.

450 is borrowed time but doable. If it where me I' do what it took to get to 400-410 (which it is in my case) and leave well enough alone.

Ok, thanks for the input guys.

One more question, which clutch are you guys running? I am going to do the swap while the motor is out.
