clutch going?
so recently my clutch seems to be acting up...when ive been driving i guess if it gets hot it seems to kinda slip until the pedal is all the way up rather then when i first got it it would pretty much engage half to 3/4 way up....now it has to be fully up for the clutch to be engaged...my car has 63k miles and i dont knwo if its stock clutch, its a very stiff clutch, alot stiffer then my v6 or the cobra i test drove i almost put my foot thru the floor of the cobra when i went to depress the pedal....should i get a new quadrent and firewall adjuster? i have a short throw

RE: clutch going?
you can adjust them manually at the tranny...or you could buy the adjuster but someone once told me that the 99-04 stangs automatically adjust themselves, don't know how much truth is behind this could just be the blind leading the blind...if you need a new clutch i just burnt out a centerforce in 6 months and i didnt even drive my car that hard im guessing it was from all of the chatter... i would go with a spec which is what i have now and i have no chatter and it is sooo smooth but thats just my .02

RE: clutch going?
i just put a brand new king cobra in mmine because it did thing. Now it doesnt slip, but it still doesnt engage until 3/4 the way up. I can bring the pedal halfway up before it starts engaging at all. I know the clutch is self adjusting, but i wish it could engage sooner. Maybe we both need a firewall adjuster.
